An Amazing Experience!!
My amazing experience,
On Feb. 10, 2007, my wife (Dr. Caterina Campesi), gave birth to our son (Jonah Gabriel). Jonah was born 8 lbs. 3oz. and was 21 inches long, but was not without complications. The day that he was born, my wife was in labor for 12 hours and only dialated 1 cm. The doctor explained to us that she is not moving foward in contractions and that Jonah's heart rate was increasing to a dangerous level, and that he suggested an emergency c-section. It was not what we had planned, but what ever had to be done for both of there safety had to be done. So, they were brought in for the surgery. I had explained to the surgical staff prior to the surgery that I was a chiropractor, and that I was going to adjust Jonah when he was born. Upon him being delivered, he was crying and was extremely flush, and I had asked if that was normal? They explained that it was alittle abnormal, but that he would be monitored. As soon as they layed him on the table, and knowing that my wife was o.k., I went over to Jonah, and looked him in the eyes for the first time, and proceeded to feel his neck. Just as I suspected, his first cervical vertebrae was out of alignment. As soon as I learned that, I adjusted that vertebrae. Just so that it is understood, in order to do this, you have to first have the proper training (of which I do), and have a soft touch. 15 seconds after I adjusted his spine, Jonah's heart rate came down to normal, he stopped crying, and his color turned to normal. The nurse standing next to me was in complete amazement, and as soon as the staff was aware, they too were in amazement.
I explained to them what I did, and how effective an adjustment is when done properly. I also explained that a childs adjustment is completely different then an adults adjustment. Today, not only are some of the staff in that surgical room patients of ours but their families are as well. As a chiropractor, I always try to convey to our patients what has brought them to our office (which is typically subluxations) ( subluxations are when a bone moves out of postion, causing dysfunction of nerves, but not always pain) and that is what we correct. Pain is a poor indicator of how healthy your body is, the pain will come and go, but if the actual problem (the subluxation), was not corrected, the pain will always come back. Our son is now almost 3 years old, and due to the fact that he is a very energetic little boy, he will get checked by my wife or myself once a week, and will probably get adjusted once or twice a month depending. The power of chiropractic is amazing, when done properly!!! So i encourage everyone to atleast get checked, and let us help to keep you and your family healthy!!
Thank you for your time,
